NVIDIA next gen GPU’s are heating up | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1160, 1170, 1180, and 1180+ to be released soon!
It is an awesome news for gamers to now play games at higher FPS and get more features in next gen gpu.
It has been more than two years since NVIDIA released gaming GPUs based on their Pascal architecture. The GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 arrived on shelves to much fanfare in the early summer of 2016 and have remained at the top of the performance charts.
For the gamers it should be good news as it appears that the Nvidia planning to give an upgrade to their GPU’s. According to the leaks, Nvidia releasing GeForce GTX 1160, 1170, and 1180 sooner than you might think. According to emails from the company to its partners (via WCCFtech) there will be four GPUs from Nvidia released between August to October. Three of them will be the aforementioned Nvidia GeForce GTX 1160, 1170, and 1180, while the fourth appears to be an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1180+.
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1160, 1170, 1180, and 1180+ release date
According to Leaks Nvidia will release its GPU’s to be rolled out by end of august to October.
· NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 (30th August Release Date)
· NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180+ (30th September Release Date)
· NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1170 (30th September Release Date)
· NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1160 (30th October Release Date)
Memory details of the initial next-gen lineup
Out of the three cards that NVIDIA will be launching soon, two will have 8GB of vRAM while the flagship will have 11 GB of vRAM. 11 GB of vRAM is a very odd choice and seems to indicate a bus width equal to 352-bits if general conventions are followed. We have previously seen a leak of an NVIDIA board with 12 GB vRAM and 384-bits and it is possible that this 180W is a derivative GPU of that card. Both the 150W and 120W next-gen GPUs will have 8GB of vRAM.
The 120W GB card having 8GB of vRAM is another example of NVIDIA differentiating the 120W variant from the GTX 1060 – which only has 6GB of vRAM.
Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1180 is manufactured via Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s (TSMC) 12nm process and the GPU giant reportedly will release a GPU made using TSMC’s 7nm process at the end of 2018.
