Samsung bringing a Triple Camera setup and In display fingerprint scanner to its next year A series smartphones

Samsung is planning to give its next Galaxy A series device a triple-camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor, according to ETNews. If the speculation is accurate, the mid-range device would have two of the features rumored for the flagship Samsung Galaxy S10.

A fresh report from Korean local media The Investor suggests that Samsung is looking to introduce a triple rear camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy A series next year. Triple rear cameras are also rumoured to come on the Samsung Galaxy S10, but now the company is reportedly looking to first bring them on the mid-range Galaxy A series. The report also claims that the Galaxy A series will adopt the same setup that has been rumoured for the Galaxy S10 - one lens with variable aperture, one super-wide angle lens, and one telephoto lens.

According to ETNews, Samsung may use optical technology for the in-display fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy A series phone; the potentially more advanced ultrasonic sensors would be left for the Samsung Galaxy S10. However, adding an in-display fingerprint sensor of any sort and a triple-camera to a Galaxy A series phone would likely make it highly competitive at its price range.
